The children's book Life with Duggee, which focuses on raising awareness about the entertaining realities of life with Golden Retrievers and chronicles how one young boy overcomes his fear of dogs, launched in both US and Italian markets late last year with a purpose beyond storytelling. Author Kathryn Hellwig created the book to drive support for charities close to her heart.

Following holiday sales with hundreds of books sold, Duggee Books made its first round of charitable contributions in early 2025. The Golden Retriever Foundation, an organization that funds research, education, and rescue efforts for the breed, received a donation in January based on the number of books sold last year. Additionally, another contribution was made to the author's local parent-teacher association following holiday sales.

"We're thrilled to make these initial contributions to these meaningful organizations," said Hellwig. "We believe strongly in the power of combining storytelling with purpose to create real-world impact."

These initial donations stemmed from the book's pre-order launch campaign on the popular fundraising platform Indiegogo, which helped build early awareness for the project while establishing its charitable mission. Looking ahead for 2025 and beyond, Duggee Books plans to support additional organizations emphasizing on children’s literacy and animal rescue and protection.
